Injury: Left middle finger surgery
Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent a procedure the week of Halloween to address a longstanding fracture in the middle finger of his glove hand. President of baseball operations Matt Arnold said at Cactus League media day that Contreras' finger is 100 percent healthy as Spring Training gets underway. (updated Feb. 12)

Injury: Left oblique, left shoulder
Expected return: 2026
Status: Was cleared for baseball activity just in time for Spring Training. He'll have a slow build-up but is expected to be ready for Opening Day. (updated: Feb. 12)

Injury: Right lat surgery
Expected return: 2026
Status: Suffered a major setback while throwing live batting practice on Feb. 19 and missed all of 2025. (updated: Oct. 20)
