Zack Gelof started the Gelof Brothers Foundation in 2023, along with his younger brother, Jake, who plays in the Dodgers organization. The foundation’s mission is to provide resources and assistance to support the overall development of youth in Delaware. In November 2023, the Gelof brothers hosted their inaugural youth sports camp at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, Delaware, where Zack attended from 2015-18. The Gelof brothers will continue hosting their youth sports camp every year and a turkey drive in the Southern Delaware area this Thanksgiving.
In 2026, Zack has been a mainstay representing the A’s in the community. Zack has made appearances at Lichen Elementary School, UC Davis Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital and Special Olympics Northern California in Sacramento, as well as Gigi’s Playhouse in Las Vegas.
In May, Zack organized an auction of game-used cleats, batting gloves and other memorabilia during Armed Forces Day, with the proceeds going to Operation: Care and Comfort. OCC provides essential support and comfort to U.S. service members. Zack also matched the proceeds.
Zack will be making a $10,000 donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Sacramento, and will host kids two times this season for a batting practice meet and greet, while providing concession vouchers for kids as well.
Zack will be serving his first year as 2026 Players Trust ambassador.
