Jackie Robinson broke barriers as the first African American to play in Major League Baseball, leaving an enduring legacy of courage, equality, and determination.
On April 10, Miami Senior High School and Booker T. Washington Senior High School will compete in a regular season game at loanDepot park while honoring the legacy and achievements of Jackie Robinson. All participating student-athletes will receive a Nike warm-up shirt featuring the number 42 on the back, along with one of Jackie Robinson’s nine core values.
Both schools will invite students, faculty, band members, and cheer teams to support their teams from the stands. In-game elements will include a national anthem performance, a color guard presented by the participating schools, and an interactive, educational Kahoot experience for all fans to enjoy.
To honor the trailblazer that Jackie Robinson was, the Miami Marlins Foundation hosts the annual Jackie Robinson Classic presented by Nike at loanDepot park. All participating athletes receive a Nike warmup shirt with number 42 on the back accompanied by one of Jackie Robinson’s nine values.
