Expected return: Second half of 2026 season
Status: Santander dealt with shoulder injuries throughout 2025 and continued to feel discomfort as he ramped up in January, so he is undergoing surgery this week, with an initial timeline of "five to six months" for his recovery. (Feb. 10) More >>

Injury: Right forearm fatigue
Expected return: Week-to-week with a "delayed" ramp-up
Status: Bieber came back strong from Tommy John surgery in 2025 after being acquired by the Blue Jays, but the club is now being extra cautious after he felt some fatigue through the offseason in his forearm. He is throwing at 90 feet and will continue to ramp up slowly in camp. (Feb. 10)

RHP
Injury: Right UCL reconstruction surgery
Expected return: 2027
Status: This was a new injury for Francis, not a carryover from 2025, and he will undergo surgery this week as camp opens. Francis will miss the entire 2026 season, but the Blue Jays will have more details on the exact procedure once completed. (Feb. 10)
