RHP Joe Jiménez
Injury: Left knee surgery
IL date: Feb. 10 (60-day IL)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Jiménez missed 2025 while recovering from left knee surgery and he had a cleanup procedure in November. There is no timetable for his return. (Last updated: Feb. 10)
C Sean Murphy
Injury: Right hip labral tear
Expected return: May
Status: Murphy was cleared to run on Feb. 10, but he and the Braves still aren’t willing to target a timeframe for his return. Atlanta is hoping the 2023 All-Star catcher returns from hip surgery in May, but increased activities over the next few weeks will provide a better feel for when he might be activated. RHP Spencer Schwellenbach
Injury: Right elbow inflammation
IL date: Feb. 10 (60-day IL)
Expected return: June
Status: Schwellenbach developed discomfort in late January, and the Braves are hopeful he is just dealing with bone spurs. This is the same elbow the 25-year-old pitcher fractured last year. Tests have shown no UCL damage. (Last updated: Feb. 10) More >>
RHP Grant Holmes
Injury: Right elbow inflammation
Expected return: 2026
Status: Holmes threw a side session when the Braves opened Spring Training on Feb. 10. He is aiming to be on the pitching staff to begin the 2026 season. He missed the final two months of 2025. (Last updated: Feb. 10)
RHP Reynaldo López
Injury: Right shoulder inflammation
Expected return: 2026
Status: López reported to Spring Training, and all indications are he’s lined up to begin the season in Atlanta’s rotation. He made one start last year before undergoing season-ending arthroscopic surgery. (Last updated: Feb. 10)
3B Austin Riley
Injury: Lower abdominal strain
Expected return: Spring Training 2026
Status: Underwent season-ending surgery on his core muscle on Aug. 21 and is expected to be healthy for the start of next season. (Last updated: Sept. 28)
RHP AJ Smith-Shawver
Injury: Tommy John surgery
Expected return: 2026 or 2027 season
Status: Underwent surgery on his right elbow on June 9. (Last updated: Sept. 28)
