Status: Recovering from Feb. 2025 procedure and throwing on flat ground as of Feb. 13. Targeting a return to game action in May or June 2026. (updated Feb. 13)
RHP Cam Schlittler
Injury: Mid-back inflammation
Expected return: Spring Training
Status: Schlittler said Feb. 12 that he has been dealing with the issue for "a few weeks," identifying his left lat muscle. The Yankees said Schlittler will continue to toss on flat ground but will not throw from a mound for at least a few days. (updated Feb. 13)
SS Anthony Volpe
Injury: Left shoulder labrum tear
Expected return: No earlier than May
Status: Performing weight room and agility work and should resume swinging a bat in mid-February, Aaron Boone said Feb. 12. Underwent arthroscopic surgery Oct. 12. At the time of surgery, the Yankees said Volpe would not be able to dive on the shoulder for six months. (updated Feb. 12) More >>
LHP Carlos Rodón
Injury: Loose bodies, bone spur in left elbow
Expected return: April/May
Status: Had surgery in October and has resumed playing catch as of Feb. 12. Rodón could appear in Grapefruit League games, though he will not be ready for Opening Day. (last updated: Feb. 12) More >>
RHP Gerrit Cole
Injury: Right elbow ligament tear
Expected return: May/June
Status: Threw approximately eight bullpen sessions late in 2025 and also threw several in California before reporting to Spring Training. Aaron Boone said Feb. 11 that Cole could pitch in Grapefruit League games as he prepares for Minor League rehab starts in April and May. (updated Feb. 12) More >>

Expected return: Possibly 2026
