Miller graduated from De Smet Jesuit High School in Creve Coeur, Mo., just outside of St. Louis, with a 4.6 GPA...Miller and his fiancée, Katie, got engaged in Dec. 2024...The two met while they were at Stanford. Katie was a member of two NCAA swimming championship teams and three PAC-12 championship squads...In 2015, Miller was a member of the 18U USA Baseball National Team 28-man roster...Was so committed to attending Stanford that during his senior year he emailed pro scouts to tell them he would not be signing with a pro team even if he was drafted.

2025

Made his second career Opening Day roster...Was placed on the 15-day injured list on July 5 (retro to July 3) with a left elbow sprain...Transferred to the 60-day injured list on Aug. 21 and missed the remainder of the season...Was enjoying an excellent season before hitting the IL...Had a 1.02 ERA (two ER, 17.2 IP) in his final 21 outings (May 12-July 2)...His 1.50 ERA (five ER, 30 IP) on the season was lowest in the NL and second in MLB behind only BOS’ Aroldis Chapman (1.17) (min. 30.0 IP)...Walked 20 batters in 30.0 innings...His 15.6% walk rate was seventh-highest in MLB (min. 100 BF)...Thirteen of his 20 walks allowed came vs. right-handed batters, who hit .250 (16-for-64) off him...Lefties were 8-for-37 (.216)...Stranded 12 of 18 inherited runners...Recorded his 100th career strikeout on May 18 by striking out the Athletics’ Tyler Soderstrom.

2024

Optioned to Triple-A on March 11 during Spring Training, but was able to still make the Giants’ Opening Day roster (first of his career)...Made his debut on Opening Day (March 28) at San Diego, working one hitless inning with a strikeout...His 73 appearances were most among NL rookies and third-most in MLB, trailing Guardians duo RHP Hunter Gaddis (78) and RHP Cade Smith (74)...Miller’s 67.1 innings were the most he’s thrown in a single season in his pro career, surpassing his 62.1 innings from 2023 in the Minors...Served as an opener 10 times and had a 0.84 ERA (1 ER, 10.2 IP) as a starter...Struck out 11 and gave up just seven hits (.200 AVG) in the starts...Lefties were 15-for-92 (.163) off him and righties were 35-for-152 (.230) with seven home runs (one inside the park) and 20 RBI...His 30.6% strikeout rate was fourth-best among MLB rookies...Entered the season ranked SF’s No. 30 prospect, according to MLB.com.

2023

Opened the year at Double-A Richmond and appeared in just six games with the Squirrels before earning a promotion to Sacramento on May 2...Went 1-0 with a 0.87 ERA in the six outings, striking out 15 batters in just 10.1 innings and holding opponents to a .094 clip...Made 48 appearances for the River Cats and went 2-1 with a 2.77 ERA (16er, 52.0ip) in those outings...Converted 14 of 17 save opportunities with Sacramento and struck out 73 batters (12.63 K/9ip)...His 14 saves were tied for fifth-most in all Triple-A.

2022

Spent a majority of the season at Double-A Reading where he made 22 appearances (seven starts)... finished up the year with 10 appearances at Triple-A Lehigh Valley... Was moved to the Phillies Development List on June 9 and did not pitch again until July 10... Selected to participate in the SiriusXM Futures Game... finished the game for the NL, throwing 0.1 innings and striking out the only batter he faced... Returned to Double-A Reading after the Futures Game and spent about a month there before being promoted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Aug. 15... Allowed 10 runs in 12.0 innings over 10 games with Lehigh but nine of the 10 runs allowed were in his first five games... He allowed one run over his final five games (6.1 innings) with nine strikeouts. 

2020

2019

Began his professional career with Gulf Coast League Phillies West (R)...Also pitched for Williamsport (A) and Lakewood (A)...Averaged 13.00 SO/9.0 IP (52 SO, 36.0 IP) across three levels...Did not surrender a HR to 154 total batters faced...Overall, held LHH to a .167 AVG (8-48) and .454 OPS...Participated in FIL.
