University...Went 9-8 with a 5.17 ERA (82 ER/142.2 IP) and 144 strikeouts in 60 games (20 starts) over three seasons from 2016-18…Led the Shockers in starts (15), innings (79.1) and strikeouts (82) in 2018 as a junior…Prepped at Fossil Ridge HS in Fort Collins, Colo., where he lettered three years in baseball and was team MVP and All-State in 2015 as a senior, posting a 1.93 ERA in conference matchups...Was also a three-time Academic All-State selection in high school...Currently makes his residence in Scottsdale, Ariz...Is the only person with the first-name spelling of Codi to ever appear in the Major Leagues...There have been over 25 Cody's and even a Codie (Codie Spearman, 1926 Cleveland Elites, Negro National League).

Signed with Texas on 4/4 but did not see any official game action, continuing his rehabilitation from his second consecutive season-ending elbow surgery in 2023…Re-signed with the Rangers for the 2025 season and received an invitation to Major League Spring Training on 12/19.

Returned to game action after 2022 Tommy John ligament replacement surgery, making 15 relief appearances for Triple-A Iowa (CHC)…Owned a 7.82 ERA (11 ER/12.2 IP) with 10.7 SO/9 (15 SO)…Suffered a fractured elbow during his rehab assignment with Iowa, ending his season…Elected free agency following the season.

Missed the entire 2022 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on March 7.

In 2021, Codi appeared in 65 games with the White Sox and Cubs ... he combined to go 7-4 with a 4.28 ERA in 67.1 IP... Made 25 appearances with the Cubs, posting a 3.14 ERA (10 ER/28.2 IP), striking out 17 batters, and allowing 13 walks and 20 hits... Made his debut with the Cubs on July 31 at Washington, pitching a perfect inning... Allowed just two home runs in 28.2 innings with the Cubs... Struck out a season-high four batters twice on April 12 and April 17, in back-to-back games... Earned the save in his final appearance of the season Sept. 29 at Pittsburgh.
