In his first season with Arizona, went 0-2 with a 5.84 ERA (eight ER in 12.1 IP), five walks and 13 strikeouts in 12 games...Acquired with RHP Ashton Izzi from the Mariners for INF Josh Naylor on July 24...Made his D-backs debut on July 27 at Pirates (zero ER in one IP)...Made his Major League debut with the Mariners on July 21 vs. Brewers...made two appearances before being traded near the trade deadline...Worked a pair of scoreless two-plus innings and three-strikeout appearances on Aug. 31 at Dodgers and Sept. 24 vs. Dodgers...His 99.8 mph sinker to Willy Adames/SF on Sept. 8 at Giants was the hardest thrown pitch by a D-backs left-hander since detailed recorded data started in 2008 (prev: 98.7 mph by Robbie Ray on Sept. 7, 2016)...Went scoreless in six straight games (4.2 IP) from Sept. 12-23 with zero walks and six strikeouts...Limited lefties to a .227 AVG (5-for-22)/.610 OPS, with two walks, five strikeouts and no homers...Off his sweeper (30.3% usage), opponents hit .167 (3-for-18) with zero homers and a 47.2% whiff...In six games with Triple-A Reno, went 1-1 with a 3.27 ERA (four ER in 11.0 IP), opponent .189 AVG, eight walks and 13 strikeouts...Was a non-roster invite to Mariners’ Spring Training and began the season with Double-A Arkansas...promoted to Triple-A Tacoma on June 24...Went a combined 5-4 with five saves, a 3.51 ERA (13 ER in 33.1 IP), opponent .230 AVG, 17 walks and 42 strikeouts over 32 games with Arkansas (24 G) and Tacoma (eight G).

In 27 games (25 starts) between High-A Everett (14 G) and Double-A Arkansas (13 G) went 6-2 with a 2.25 ERA (29 ER, 116.0 IP) with 47 walks and 134 strikeouts...Awarded the Mariners Jamie Moyer Co-Pitcher of the Year, along with RHP Michael Morales...Was named a Northwest League Postseason All-Star...For the month of May (1.80 ERA and 35 strikeouts in five starts) was named Mariners Minor League Co-Pitcher of the Month with Logan Evans...In June was named both Mariners Minor League Pitcher of the Month and Texas League Pitcher of the Month, going 3-0 with a 0.31 ERA (1 ER, 29.1 IP) with seven walks and 38 strikeouts in five starts with the Travelers.
