Originally signed by the Mets as a 19-year-old international free agent out of Venezuela on April 6, 2019...Signed by Mets scout Wilson Peralta...Played one season in the Mets' system, advancing three levels...After that first professional season, was traded to Houston along with LHP Blake Taylor in exchange for OF Jake Marisnick on Dec. 5, 2019...Corona has spent four of the last five offseasons (2020-22, 2024) playing for the Aguilas de Zulia of the Venezuelan Winter League...Following the 2022 season, Corona shared an outfield with fellow countryman and three time Gold Glove Award winner Ender Inciarte, who took Corona under his wing...Corona cited Inciarte’s pointers and lessons, which encouraged him to be aggressive while roaming the outfield, as an influence on his defense, as he went on to win a Minor League Rawlings Gold Glove Award in 2023...Corona and Inciarte both hail from Maracaibo, the capital of the state of Zulia in Venezuela...His lone offseason not spent with the Aguilas was spent in the Arizona Fall League following the 2023 season, where he batted .240 (6-for-25) with two doubles, four RBI and two stolen bases in seven games with the Mesa Solar Sox...Headed into the 2025 season, Corona was ranked as the Best Defensive Outfielder in the Astros' Minor League system, per Baseball America...After four seasons in the Astros' system, added to the club’s 40-man roster on Nov. 14, 2023...The 2025 season will be his second at Major League Spring Training.

2024

Reached the Triple-A level for the first time in 2024 but spent the majority of his season with Double-A Corpus Christi...Batted a combined .214 (73-for-342) with three home runs, 29 RBI and 27 stolen bases...Began the year with Corpus Christi (78 games) and was promoted to Triple-A Sugar Land on Aug. 13, where he spent the rest of the season (20 games)…Received his first invite to MLB Spring Training, batting .286 (4-for-14) through 10 games.

2023

Was a frequent Minor League call-up at 2023 Astros Spring Training, appearing in nine games for the Astros, hitting .313 (5-for-16)...Spent the majority of his season at Double-A Corpus Christi, earning a Minor League Gold Glove Award at the outfield position...In addition to his defensive season, hit 22 homers and stole 32 bases combined at two levels...Hit .278 (25-for-90) with a .902 OPS vs. lefties on the season...Played in seven games in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .240 (6-for-25) with four RBI in seven games.

2022

Was a 2022 MiLB.com Organizational All-Star while splitting his season between Fayetteville (45 games) and Asheville (62)...Played better after his promotion to Asheville, hitting .290 (71-for-245) with 10 homers in 62 games at the higher level...Was the only player in the Astros organization to reach 19 homers and 28 stolen bases on the season.

2021

Spent the entire 2021 season at Class A Fayetteville, appearing in 57 games...Was his first full season in the Astros organization.

Made his professional debut in 2019, advancing three levels, from the Dominican Summer League, to the Gulf Coast League to Class A Brooklyn...Combined to hit .301 (66-for-219) with an .868 OPS in 63 games...Traded to Houston following the year.
