Peyton Charles Paul Gray...Signed by Rockies scout Zach Wilson as an undrafted free agent on June 26, 2018 after playing four collegiate seasons at Florida Gulf Coast University (2017-18), Gulf Coast State College (2016) and Western Michigan University (2015)…Went 6-5 with a 5.49 ERA over 36 games/13 starts (one CG) in his two seasons at FGCU…During his sophomore season at Gulf Coast State, posted an 8-1 record with one save and a 3.93 ERA over 18 games/11 starts en route to claiming First Team All-Panhandle Conference honors…The Columbus, Ind., native prepped at Columbus East HS, where he was a four-year letter-winner in baseball and three-year varsity letter-winner in basketball…Was captain of the school’s bowling team and recorded several perfect games (300 score).

2025

Signed with Texas as Minor League free agent on Jan. 21 and returned to an affiliated mound for the first time since 2021 with the Royals organization…Split the campaign between Frisco (AA) and Round Rock (AAA), combining for an 8-6 record, one save, a 3.58 ERA (29 ER/73.0 IP) and 89 SO (11.0 SO/9) in 45 games (two starts)…Pitched twice for the Rangers in Cactus League play, retiring the only batter he faced in each appearance (March 6 at LAD and March 11 vs. LAA)…Began the regular season with Frisco and was scoreless in six of seven games (2.25 ERA in 12.0 IP) before receiving his first career promotion to Triple-A on April 29…Pitched 2.1 shutout innings in his first appearance with Round Rock on April 30 at SUG (one H, two BB, two K, one HB)…Served as a spot starter for the Express on June 6 at SL (season-high-tying 2.2 IP, two R/ER, season-high five K) and June 15 vs. ELP (2.0 IP, three R/two ER)…Earned lone save on the year on Aug. 14 vs. SAC (1.0 SHO IP), which lowered his ERA with RR to 2.01 (10 ER/44.2 IP) through his first 26 games with the club…Had reverse splits on the season, limiting left-handed batters to a .236/.309/.350/.659 (29-for-123) slash line while right-handed batters hit .281/.347/.458/.805 (43-for-153)…Opposing bats were more successful with the bases empty (.297 BA, .829 OPS) than with runners on (.221 BA, .641 OPS)…Between FRI and RR, turned in 2.0+ IP in 22 of 45 games and 1.1+ IP in 32 of 45 games…Appeared in a foreign winter league for a fourth straight offseason, going 1-2 with a 3.48 ERA (four ER/10.1 IP) for LIDOM’s (D.R.) 2024

Began the year with the Cincinnati organization and logged three outings for the Reds in the Cactus League, but was placed on the 60-day IL on April 21 (right shoulder strain) and did not make an official in-season appearance…Released on Nov. 4…Made 24 appearances for Guasave of the Mexican Pacific Winter League, posting a 1.57 ERA (four ER/23.0 IP) with 33 strikeouts and five walks.

2023

Saw bulk of action with the Independent Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association, where he registered a 1.38 ERA (six ER/39.0 IP) over 37 relief appearances…Signed as a Minor League free agent with the Cincinnati Reds organization on Dec. 23…Also saw action with Guasave in the Mexican Winter League, allowing three runs, none earned (0.00 ERA) in 26 games/25.0 innings pitched.

2022

Released by the Royals on July 16 and latched on with the independent Milwaukee Milkmen for his second stint with the club (also 2020), owning a 2-0 record and 1.20 ERA over 15 relief outings…Fanned 22 batters while walking just seven and not allowing a home run…Made seven appearances with Obregon of the Mexican Winter League in the 2022-23 offseason.

2021

Signed with Kansas City as a Minor League free agent on Sept. 29, 2020, logging a 2.80 ERA (14 ER/45.0 IP) with 71 strikeouts and 23 walks in 24 appearances with three different affiliates in the Royals organization: Northwest Arkansas (AA), Quad City (A+) and Columbia (A)…Notched seven saves to rank tied for fourth among Royals farmhands.

2020

While pitching for Milwaukee of the Independent American Association, recorded 32.0 scoreless frames spanning 30 relief appearances, finishing the campaign with a 0.00 ERA (0 R, 10 H, 14 BB, one IBB, 56 K, 0.750 WHIP, 15.8 SO/9)…This after he was released by the Colorado organization on Feb. 19.

2019

Suffered a shoulder injury during Spring Training with Rockies, which limited him to just two appearances in July with Grand Junction (Rk. Adv.) and Boise (A-).

2018

Signed with Colorado as an undrafted free agent and went 4-0 with a 2.11 ERA (five ER/21.1 IP) over 16 relief appearances in his pro debut with Boise (A).
