The Arizona Diamondbacks, UnitedHealthcare and Flower Street Urban Gardens teamed up to focus on sustainability -- energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives both at Chase Field and in the community. The Urban Garden has about 180 square feet of local produce and herbs that will generate produce in the ballpark and in local communities year-round. D-backs Greens is located on the northwest wall of the stadium, just outside the main gates and is available to all fans.

D-backs Greens contains nearly 200 assorted herbs including sweet basil, chives, garlic chives, lavender, oregano, rosemary and more that will change seasonally. The garden was designed and created by local company Flower Street Urban Gardens and features 180-square feet of vertically-hanging planting space.
Outreach
With the support of UnitedHealthcare, the D-backs will use D-backs Greens as an educational tool to teach fans about sustainability efforts and encourage healthy eating.
In September 2021, the D-backs launched the Minor League Garden at Valencia Newcomer School in the Alhambra School District.
Education
As part of the D-backs’ sustainability efforts, the team will utilize both the D-backs Greens Garden as an educational platform for local non-profit organizations and will include sustainability messaging in outreach events. Educational materials will be distributed to classrooms in which outreach events are conducted or to partnered non-profits who visit the D-backs Greens at Chase Field.
