The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired right-handed pitcher Ron Marinaccio (pronounced “mair-uh-NAH-chee-oh”) from San Diego, in exchange for International Signing Bonus Pool considerations.

The 31-year-old Marinaccio, a native of Toms River, NJ, went 1-0 with a 4.79 ERA (47.0ip/25er) and 38 strikeouts across his 33 relief appearances with the Padres this season.
