Sara Greenspan
Senior Vice President, People & Culture
Sara Greenspan was promoted to her current position of Senior Vice President, People & Culture in February 2021. She originally joined the Padres as Director of Human Resources in May 2012. 2026 marks her 15th season as the head of human resources for the Padres. Greenspan is responsible for developing and leading the organizations human capital strategy, including, but not limited to, organizational and leadership development, talent acquisition, DE&I initiatives, compensation, benefits, risk management, culture initiatives and all labor and employee relations.
Prior to joining the Padres, Greenspan held human resources leadership roles at large consumer brand organizations, including Pepsi Bottling Group, Kyocera America, and Yum Brands! -KFC.
Originally from the east coast, Greenspan graduated with honors from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. After completing her Human Resources certificate from U.C San Diego, she went on to earn her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, SHRM-SCP certification, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and DEI certification from USC. She previously served on the Board of Directors of Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego and on the USD Employer Advisory Board. She currently serves on the board for the National Conflict Resolution Center and is an active member of National Charity League- Seaside Chapter and a class coordinator for Lions Heart (Teen Volunteers and Leaders). Greenspan and her husband, Mike, reside in Scripps Ranch with their active three children: Gavin, Amelia and Stella.
