Minor League Roundup
Triple-A Louisville
Louisville went 1-2 this weekend to split the series against Indianapolis.
In the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader, Noelvi Marte and Edwin Arroyo each went 2-for-3 at the plate to put the Bats ahead in the 5-3 win. Marte’s two-run home run was his fifth this season as he leads the Bats with a .378 batting average. On the mound, Brandon Leibrandt recorded his first win of the season after pitching five innings and striking out one.
Louisville is tied for second in the International League West Division with a record of 26-19. Nashville and Gwinnett maintain the same record and all three teams sit one game behind Memphis.
Double-A Chattanooga
Chattanooga’s bats delivered in the bottom of the eighth inning, scoring two runs to win the final game of the series against Pensacola 5-3.
The Lookouts recorded four doubles, one triple and one home run in the game. Leo Balcazar earned both a double and home run for the Lookouts with one RBI and two runs. Balcazar leads the Lookouts with 39 hits and 28 RBIs on the season.
Chattanooga remains first in the Southern League North Division.
High-A Dayton
Dayton recorded two wins this weekend to split the series with Lake County.
John Michael Faile went 4-for-5 in Sunday’s win. Faile had a double and his first stolen base this season. Over his last 14 games, Faile holds a .400 batting average and 20 hits. The game was tied 7-7 and with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, Yerlin Confidan singled to right field to score Faile from second base. The Dragons won 8-7.
Dayton currently leads the Midwest League Division in hits (342) as they sit in second in the East Division.

On January 23, MLB Pipeline released its new Top 100 Prospects rankings in preparation for the 2026 season.
The Reds have four players currently ranked in MLB Pipeline's Top 100:
22. INF Sal Stewart (Made MLB debut on Sept. 1; 2025 All-Star Futures Game selection; Reds 2025 Minor League Player of the Year)
38. C Alfredo Duno (Single-A; 2025 Florida State League MVP; 2025 All-Star Futures Game selection; Reds 2025 Minor League Hitter of the Year)

2025 MLB DRAFT

The Reds had three picks on day one of the 2025 MLB First-Year Player Draft: No. 9, No. 51 and No. 83. They rounded out their draft with Rounds 4-20 on day two. Of their 20 selections, the Reds drafted 12 pitchers, and six of the 20 players taken were high schoolers.
SS Steele Hall – Round 1, #9
With the ninth overall selection, the Cincinnati Reds took 17-year-old high school shortstop Steele Hall out of Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville, Alabama.
RHP Aaron Watson – Round 2, #51
With their second pick, the Reds selected 18-year-old right-handed pitcher Aaron Watson out of Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida.
RHP Mason Morris – Round 3, #83
With their third pick, the Reds drafted 21-year-old right-handed pitcher Mason Morris out of the University of Mississippi.
