The San Francisco Giants are dedicated to promoting Mental Health Awareness by fostering open dialogue, reducing stigma, and connecting the community to vital resources. Through their annual Mental Health Awareness game at Oracle Park and the efforts of the organization’s internal Mental Health team, the Giants champion mental wellness as an essential part of living healthy, balanced lives.
Health
Pediatric Cancer
Each season, the San Francisco Giants honor children and families affected by pediatric cancer through ongoing awareness and fundraising efforts in partnership with Major League Baseball and the Posey family’s BP28 initiative. The team’s annual Pediatric Cancer Awareness game raises support for life-saving research and treatment while celebrating the strength and resilience of young patients and their loved ones, with players, coaches, and staff proudly wearing gold to show their solidarity.
Lou Gehrig Day

Collectively with MLB, the Giants continue to pay tribute to Lou Gehrig and raise awareness for ALS - hosting Lou Gehrig Day, annually. Throughout Giants history, three Giants players (Barry Zito ‘12, Buster Posey ‘19, Brandon Crawford ‘22) have received the Lou Gehrig Award, which recognizes one MLB player each season for exemplary philanthropic contributions in his community.

Life Threatening Illnesses

Family House San Francisco serves as a home away from home for families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses - providing physical and emotional support without financial concern. The Giants continue to make regular team visits to the home, to meet with children and their families and play some baseball.

The San Francisco Giants proudly partner with Make-A-Wish and other organizations to create unforgettable experiences for children and families facing critical illnesses and difficult circumstances. Through player meet-and-greets, on-field visits, and personalized moments at Oracle Park, the Giants bring hope, joy, and lasting memories to those who need them most.

The Giants continue to team up with Tony’s Pizza to help raise money for George Mark Children’s House through the annual Slice House player seasonal pizzas campaign. George Mark Children’s House remains a leader in pediatric palliative care - focusing on quality of life and continuity of care for children with illnesses that modern healthcare cannot yet cure. Since the campaign’s launch in 2016, $350K+ has been raised.
Until There's A Cure®

Since 1994, the San Francisco Giants have proudly partnered with Until There’s A Cure to raise awareness and funds in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Each season, the team hosts the Until There’s A Cure game at Oracle Park, where the 50/50 Raffle, and the sale of Until There’s A Cure bracelets support the organization’s mission to promote prevention, education, and care while working to end stigma and find a cure.
