BP28 launched in the spring of 2016 to change outcomes for children with pediatric cancer by raising awareness and funds for pioneering research and treatment. Buster and Kristen Posey are committed to advancing research with the potential to have the greatest impact on pediatric cancers. The BP28 Gala hosted by Buster and Kristen Posey has raised $7M+ in direct support of new research and treatment for children faced with cancer. Proceeds benefit Giants partners at the V Foundation and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.

The San Francisco Giants are deeply committed to supporting Pediatric Cancer Awareness through year-round efforts that bring hope and strength to children and families affected by cancer. Each season, the team hosts the Pediatric Cancer Awareness game in partnership with Major League Baseball and the Posey family’s BP28 initiative, raising funds and awareness for life-saving research and treatment. Every other year, the Giants further this impact by supporting the BP28 Gala, which generates critical support for pediatric cancer programs. Beyond these events, the organization honors special requests, makes hospital visits, and provides ongoing support to young patients and their families throughout the year.
Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day 2025

The San Francisco Giants annual Pediatric Cancer Awareness game at Oracle Park honors and celebrates children and families affected by cancer while raising awareness and funds for life-saving research and treatment. The day features powerful pregame activations, including on-field recognitions, awareness assets and the beloved Pediatric Cancer Player Portraits displayed on the scoreboard. The Giants host pediatric cancer patients, their families, and oncology nurses and doctors representing more than a dozen hospitals and nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting kids in their fight against cancer. Together, these moments unite the Giants community in hope, strength, and support for those fighting pediatric cancer.

Family House serves as a home away from home for families with children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Family House provides physical comfort and emotional support, free from financial concerns. Working in conjunction with UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, Family House offers family-center care for patient families, and is more than just a place to stay. Family House is a supportive community of people who are dedicated to providing a caring environment for the entire family, while their child undergoes treatment.
The Kids & Art Foundation offers art programs for countless pediatric cancer patients and families across the country. The engaging art experiences provide children in treatment a unique opportunity to step away from their limitations and therapies to enjoy the freedom and benefits of creative escape and self-expression.

Today, RMHC Bay Area serves critically ill children through a network of Ronald McDonald House Charity programs that provide housing, meals, and psychosocial support inside or nearby Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in San Francisco and Oakland.
The Sunshine Kids Foundation provides exciting, positive group activities and opportunities for children with cancer so they may once again do what kids are meant to do - have fun and celebrate life. Sunshine Kids is dedicated to offering the most exciting activities, trips and opportunities for as many young cancer patients as possible.
Seventy years ago, Valley Children's Healthcare began as the vision of five civic-minded women who saw the need for a dedicated pediatric hospital in Central California. Since then, they've grown from a 42-bed hospital to one of the largest pediatric healthcare networks in the country.
The Giants continue to team up with Tony’s Pizza to help raise money for George Mark Children’s House through the annual Slice House player seasonal pizzas campaign. George Mark Children’s House has been a leader for the pediatric palliative care movement and focuses on quality of life and continuity of care for children with illnesses that modern healthcare cannot yet cure.
Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area is a 501(c) non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of children between the ages of 2.5 and 18 years old who have critical illnesses. Founded in 1984, they serve 17 counties in Northern California, from Siskiyou to Monterey. Their chapter has granted 9.5K+ wishes to date and grants around 350 life-changing wishes per year.
