Bleachers

The bleachers have long been a pillar of the fan experience at Fenway Park. Completed in 1912 in time for the World Series, the original bleachers were wood benches, with no individual seats. A ticket for the bleachers in 1913 was around $0.50, which is about $16 in 2025.

In 1926, a fire burned down the wooden bleachers and they were not replaced until major renovations to Fenway were completed by Tom Yawkey after he purchased the team in 1933. The bleachers were replaced with steel bleachers, and then eventually with plastic seats, which was completed in 1983.

The current bleachers were installed in 2008, in an effort to waterproof that section of the ballpark.
