Camp Basics
What are the camp hours?
Camp runs from 8:45 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday.
To support busy family schedules, we also offer:
- Morning Extended Day: begins at 8:00 AM
- Afternoon Extended Day: runs until 5:00 PM
We additionally offer small-group hitting and fielding lessons after camp until 4:00 PM. These sessions give ballplayers extra time to reinforce the skills they learned during the day. Lesson spots are limited and often fill well before the camp week begins.
What should my ballplayer bring to camp?
Please label every item with your ballplayer’s first initial and last name.
Daily essentials include:
- Baseball glove
- Cleats and athletic shoes (sneakers required for any indoor activities)
- Sunscreen (spray preferred for ease of use)
- Nut free lunch in a labeled bag with an ice pack
- Water bottle (we provide water for refilling throughout the day)
- Bat*
- Helmet*
*We strongly encourage campers to bring their own bat and helmet. Limited loaner equipment is available if needed and will be returned to coaches at the end of the camp day.
What is the age range for ballplayers?
New York Yankees Baseball Summer Camps welcomes ballplayers entering kindergarten through eighth grade.
Do ballplayers need prior baseball experience?
No. We welcome all levels — from first-time ballplayers to experienced travel team players.
How are campers grouped into teams?
Ballplayers are placed on teams according to rising grade. Within each grade group, we balance skill levels to create a fun, safe, and developmentally appropriate baseball experience.
Can my ballplayer be placed on a team with friends or siblings?
Yes — families may submit Buddy Group requests during registration.
- Ballplayers may request up to three (3) friends
- All friends must be in the same rising grade to be placed together
- We do our best to honor buddy requests whenever team balance and enrollment allow
While requests cannot be guaranteed, we make every effort to keep at least one requested friend together when possible.
Who are the coaches?
Our coaching staff includes:
- High school coaches
- Travel program coaches
- Current or former collegiate & high school players
All staff complete a rigorous screening process, background checks, and pre-camp training to ensure a safe, supportive, and high-energy camp environment.
